COLONEL SAMUEL MKAMI
May the Lord Jesus be praised by the children of God, Officers, Cadets, and staff, and all our brothers in Christ,
With great joy and gratitude, we stand before God today to celebrate 25 years of our officers' college since its inception in 2000. It is a great blessing and not by our own ability, but by the hand of God who guided us step by step until we have arrived here.
First, we thank God our Father for planting the seed of the call to establish this college. Through the vision of the founders and the leadership of the Church, it was imperative that the church have well-trained leaders to carry the vision of our savior and make Christianity a great value in the hearts of God's people. And our founders established this ministry
this college has become an instrument of blessing and service to the territory of Tanzania.
Secondly, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the leaders of the Church, especially Lieut-Colonel David and Jean Burrows, Major Linda Manhardt, and Commissioner Patricia Bird, for their excellent initiative in establishing this college. And especially to General John Gowans, who approved the establishment of this college. We thank the officers, teachers, graduates, and all stakeholders who have put in the energy, time, and prayers to ensure that this college has stood strong for a quarter of a century. Without this unity of faith, this journey would not have been possible.
Over the past 25 years, we have seen:
Aspirants respond to the call to study the Word of God and learn about ministry and spiritual leadership.
Many graduates are sent to various forums and events, as witnesses for Christ. And through them, the church has continued to grow and strengthen.
But we also remember that these achievements are not just for pride, but are a call to continue to be a light to the nations and the salt of the earth. As we celebrate 25 years, let us ask ourselves: are we increasingly standing on the foundation of the Word of God? Are we producing pastors and leaders with the heart of Christ the Good Shepherd?
As we look to the journey ahead, we are encouraged by the words of the Apostle Paul in Philippians 3:13-14: “I do not forget those things which are behind, but I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
Thus, may the next 25-year journey be one of greater faithfulness, humility, hope, progress, and dedication to service.
To the Cadets, and , remember that you are the fruit of this college. Lest you forget that pastoral education is not for honor, but for service. You are called not only to learn, but also to be examples of the life of Christ in your communities from now on and into the future.
Finally, I would like to say: Let this 25-year jubilee be a reminder that “He who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6). Let us praise God for His faithfulness yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
As we begin these celebrations, let us remember the words of the victory of the Israelites and the great deed that took place at Mizpah during the time of the prophet Samuel.
1 Samuel 7:12
The text says:
“Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen, and called its name Ebenezer, saying, ‘Thus far the Lord has helped us'
